About Drift
Wedding planning should feel like
the beginning of something wonderful,
not a project to survive.
Elise Pope
Founder & wedding planner
At Drift, planning your wedding is about more than timelines and logistics. It's about creating space for you to actually enjoy the process.
I started this business after planning my own wedding during the uncertainty of COVID, a time that taught me just how quickly things can feel overwhelming, and how valuable it is to have someone steady in your corner.
I've always loved design and creativity, but I'm equally someone who thrives on organisation, clear communication, and making things run smoothly behind the scenes. I'm a planner by nature, a confident negotiator when needed, and someone who genuinely enjoys helping people find common ground, especially when there are lots of ideas, opinions, and moving parts involved.
Whether it's a relaxed beach celebration or a formal black-tie event, what matters most to me is that your day feels like you, thoughtfully put together, and the absolute best day for you and your whānau.
Organised. And a thorough researcher.
If you're struggling to find exactly what you want: the venue that feels right, the florist who works with your vision, the photographer whose style is hard to describe. I can dig it out. Nothing falls through the cracks.
Good with people. Including complicated ones.
Managing lots of opinions, conflicting ideas, and strong personalities is something I genuinely enjoy. I'm a calm, neutral third party who can help manage people as much as logistics.
Zero judgment, always.
If you have an idea that feels farfetched or unconventional, I won't talk you out of it. I'll break it down, find a way to make something work, and make you feel good about your vision. Your idea matters.
I'll get you unstuck.
Most couples don't know where to begin. That's where I usually start: the venue. Once that's in place, everything else falls into order. My first job is giving you a jumping-off point, so excitement can replace dread.
The name
Drift reflects how your wedding day should feel, calm, easy, and unforced. Instead of being pulled in a hundred directions, you simply drift through it: present, relaxed, and able to take it all in. My role is to take on the mental load, manage the details, and quietly keep everything on track so you don't have to.
